Description

Storytime is a charming 48ft Dutch barge style narrowboat, full of character and offering a warm, traditional feel throughout. Built in 2001, she presents an inviting and practical layout that is well suited to relaxed leisure cruising or extended stays aboard. Her classic timber interior creates a cosy, homely atmosphere, complemented by thoughtful storage solutions and comfortable living spaces.

Designed with usability in mind, Storytime benefits from a range of features to support life on the water, including solar panels for added efficiency, a pram cover to extend outdoor usability, and both solid fuel and diesel heating systems to ensure year-round comfort. Whether moored up or cruising the inland waterways, she offers a balanced blend of charm and functionality.

The galley is well-equipped for everyday living, featuring a gas cooker with a four-burner hob, oven and grill, alongside ample worktop space with a tiled splashback. Storage cupboards provide practical space for provisions, while a stainless steel sink with drainer and a fridge with a small freezer compartment complete the setup. Positioned towards the stern, the galley offers convenient access to the rear deck.

Moving forward, the saloon provides a comfortable and relaxing space, furnished with freestanding armchairs and complemented by built-in storage and open shelving. A solid fuel stove, set within a tiled surround, acts as a cosy focal point—perfect for cooler evenings—while windows to both sides allow natural light to fill the space.

The master bedroom features a fixed double berth with storage beneath and surrounding shelving, creating a practical yet comfortable sleeping area. Radiators ensure warmth, and windows on both sides maintain a bright and airy feel. In addition, a dinette area provides further seating and can be adapted to accommodate additional berths, allowing for up to four people onboard.

The bathroom is neatly arranged within a single compartment and includes a Thetford cassette toilet, a wash basin set within a vanity unit, and a fully enclosed shower cubicle with a glazed door. A heated towel rail adds an extra touch of comfort.

The layout flows from stern to bow as follows: rear deck, galley, saloon, dinette, bathroom, and master bedroom—offering a logical and easy-to-navigate living space.

Powered by a Nanni 150 engine with a Sigma drive to propshaft, Storytime delivers reliable performance for inland cruising.
