Just minutes away, Frampton-on-Severn offers a village shop, post office, local pubs and scenic walks around its famous village green—the longest in the country.
With the Gloucester & Sharpness Canal and River Severn close by, the area is rich in natural beauty and local interest. From waterside walks to unique attractions like Purton Ship Graveyard, there’s always something new to discover right on your doorstep.
Frampton-on-Severn
Frampton on Severn is only a stone throws away from the marina. The historical village boasts the country's longest village green, at about 22 acres in size. The area east of The Green designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest, and there is an abundance of Flora and Fauna.
The village is a hidden gem in the countryside, with the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal running alongside the village and many local activities right on the doorstep. Just beyond the canal, runs the River Severn. Both the canal and the river boast fantastic walks and views as well as interesting places to visit such as Purton Ship Graveyard.
Cotswolds
Saul Junction Marina is located in the Cotswolds, which is officially recognised as an area of outstanding natural beauty by the Landscapes for Life charity. Nearby to the towns of Gloucester and Cheltenham there is plenty of shopping, attractions and things to see and do.
With the M5 only a short distance away, you may want to pop down to the vibrate city of Bristol to see a show, go for a night out and visit the beautiful harbour side. If you don't fancy visiting the local cities there are some wonderful local towns such as Stroud and Stonehouse or visit the castle at Berkeley.

This includes the fantastic choice of cruising routes that are available to you from the Gloucester Canal. Plus, there are no locks!
Cruising north-west on the canal, bearing right as you leave the marina will take you into the stunning city of Gloucester. Known for its 11th century Gloucester Cathedral which is an admirable example of Romanesque and Gothic architecture of the era. There are plenty of attractions in the city including theatre, museums, food and drink, parks and walks by the River Severn.
The marina basin at Gloucester allows you lock onto the River Severn. From here you can cruise to Tewksbury, River Avon, Stratford-upon-Avon, Worcester and Stourport giving you access to the wider inland canal network.
