The charming village of Grassington is just two miles away

In Grassington, you will find a lovely selection of independent shops, cafĂ©s and attractions. Take a stroll through the village, browse the local shops or visit the farmers’ market, held on the third Sunday of each month, where local producers showcase their goods.

For a wider choice of shops and everyday essentials, Skipton is less than ten miles away. Known as the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, Skipton offers a range of independent and high-street shops, as well as Craven Court shopping centre and the historic Skipton Market. The market has been held in the town for more than 800 years and takes place every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

Family days out in the Yorkshire Dales

There’s plenty to keep younger visitors entertained, with family-friendly attractions, historic sites and outdoor adventures all within easy reach of Long Ashes Park.

Discover castles and historic landmarks including Bolton Castle, Skipton Castle and Fountains Abbey. Throughout the year, many host special family events, with falconry displays, archery and living-history experiences bringing the past to life.

For something a little more adventurous, get up close to animals at Hesketh Farm Park and Thornton Hall Farm Park, venture underground at Stump Cross Caverns, meet llamas and alpacas at Niddersale Llamas, or discover the wonderfully mysterious Forbidden Corner near Leyburn, with its winding tunnels, hidden chambers and labyrinths.

With so much to explore across the Dales and beyond, there’s always another family day out to discover.

Further afield, Kilnsey Crag, Bolton Abbey and the valleys of the Yorkshire Dales offer plenty more opportunities to get out and explore.

For more experienced walkers, the Dales provide an abundance of longer and more challenging routes, including sections of the Pennine Way, Dales Way and Coast to Coast. The famous Yorkshire Three Peaks is another highlight for those looking for a greater challenge, taking in the summits of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough.

From quiet woodland walks to dramatic limestone landscapes and challenging hilltops, there’s always somewhere new to discover in the Yorkshire Dales.

Service was fantastic throughout our stay.
Only scored 4 first the room as blackout blinds would have been a bonus.

Great location fantastic staff

Whilst camping nearby, we visited to have a meal. Staff were great, food was very good. The fish was one of the best I've tried. Beer went down well, and you can takeaway bottled alcohol, so we purchased a bottle of takeaway away wine😀. Also Dog friendly.

Just had a lovely overnight stay. The food and service was great, lovely room and very comfortable bed. It’s the first full nights sleep I’ve had in weeks.

I have given 5 stars because we have been here on a number of occasions whilst staying on the nearby camping site. The restaurant, staff and atmosphere are second to none but on this particularly evening we decided to try the Tapas as it was a Tapas Evening. Whilst the food was really good we expected the choice of crusty bread would be a few slices of French Stick which is what you would get in Spain but it was two seeded buns. Not sufficient really or great value for that choice. The patatas Bravas was more like chips with a mild spicy sauce which was slightly disappointing. Overall though would highly recommend.

Had a lovely weekend break here.

The location was peaceful. I recommend the quarry walk on the doorstep. The food and restaurant were top tier in quality - welcoming and friendly service throughout.
