Tattenhall Marina Day Boat Hire

Discover the delights of cruising the canal in your own boat for the day.

If you’re looking for a day out with a difference, why not enjoy a relaxing cruise along the Shropshire Union Canal on one of our day boats? It’s the perfect way to spend quality time with family and friends while creating memories you’ll treasure for years to come.

Our four narrowboats are custom-built for day cruising and are available to hire from spring to autumn. Each boat offers a spacious open-air seating area where you can sit back and soak up the beautiful canalside scenery. Whatever the weather, you’ll be comfortable, as there’s also plenty of indoor seating with large windows, a table, sink, and WC.

Please note: our hire boats do not include a gas hob. However, each comes equipped with a kettle and tea and coffee making facilities, along with plates, cups, and cutlery for up to 10 people. Drinking water and a toilet are on board, and there are no additional charges for diesel.

With space for a maximum of 10 passengers, our boats are also pet-friendly—so your four-legged friend can join the adventure too.

Lovely mariner, all the staff welcoming and really helpful.

Tattenhal Marina is a great location to either hire a boat or keep one. Modern quality facilities sit alongside a range of services including a quality cafe and more. There's also some floating pods you can rent for the traveller. Recommend a visit.

Amazing stay! The floating house we stayed in was small but did not feel it. Was warm and cosy with fabulous views. I could bird watch all day! Cafe opposite was lovely and the staff super friendly.

The staff are wonderful and friendly and helpful.
Only complaint is the signage is too small coming into the marina off the cut.
We were given a map to our mooring but the jetty’s weren’t numbered and the boat names were difficult to see.
The signage on the road is difficult too and neither maps nor google know where the actual entrance is and take you to the emergency exit. I’ve tried notifying google but I’m not sure how long it takes to review.
The services were lovely and the showers and bathrooms were nice and clean and the laundry is great.

This is a very well set out marina. It is run by pleasant people and the cafe is very, very reasonable. If you want a laugh I suggest you look at the one star reviews. They include one that apparently complains about crows and another that was done after the writer discovered that the place was shut. I call it entertaining ignorance.
But seriously, this place is a bit of a gem for both the boater and the casual visitor alike and no, I have absolutely no connection to the business whatsoever.

I’ve been moored at Tattenhall Marina for three years now and couldn't be happier with the experience. The facilities are always well-maintained, but what really sets this place apart is the atmosphere. A huge shout-out to Ollie, the manager—he’s approachable, professional, and always goes the extra mile to ensure the community is looked after. It makes a world of difference knowing the marina is in such capable hands.
The onsite cafe is also a great perk with a lovely vibe; the only thing that could possibly make it better would be the addition of a full English breakfast to the menu! Highly recommended for any boater.
