Description

Perfik is a stunning 50ft traditional stern narrowboat built by Colecraft in 1995. Originally displayed at the IWA Broughton Show, she was purchased as a show model and lovingly maintained by her previous owners for 27 years as a holiday home. With her classic Colecraft craftsmanship, including oak panelling, mahogany decorative noggins, and elegant inlays, Perfik combines timeless style with modern functionality, offering a luxurious and comfortable cruising experience.

The interior is thoughtfully arranged with a stern-to-bow layout of master bedroom → bathroom → galley → saloon, featuring carpeted flooring, zoned 12v recessed lighting, and separating doors between each area to create distinct living zones. Ample storage is provided throughout, from deep drawers and wardrobes to built-in cupboards and shelving, ensuring everything has its place on board. Recent upgrades, including a Victron system, new consumer unit, water pumps, bilge pump, and kitchen tap, mean Perfik is fully prepared for extended cruising.

The galley is light, airy, and well-equipped, with large port and starboard windows, a Houdini hatch above, and parquet flooring in the working area. Cooking is easy with a head-height gas grill, separate gas oven, built-in 4-ring gas hob, and 500W microwave, while a 12v fridge, deep corner shelving, L-shaped work surfaces, and fitted water filter tap provide ample convenience. Additional extras include a sturdy drop-leaf dining table, occasional work surface panel, double 240v sockets, and thoughtful storage beneath starboard windows.

The saloon is a welcoming and flexible space, featuring an L-shaped seating area with lovely blue upholstery that converts into a 4ft bed or occasional day bed. The drop-leaf dining table and fold-up stool allow up to six people to dine comfortably. Built-in storage, hanging wardrobe, dresser, and space for a 32” TV with wired aerial switch complement the seating area. A large radiator, canal plates on display, intercom, and radio complete this homely environment.

Perfik’s master bedroom is elegant and spacious, with a 4ft four-poster bed, fitted Emma mattress, overhead storage cupboards, reading lights, full-length wardrobe, vanity unit with mirror and stool, and deep drawers under the bed housing the lagged calorifier and waste tank. Large windows and radiator ensure comfort, while an interior door leads directly into the bathroom. The boatman’s cabin offers additional flexible seating that can convert into a day bed.

The bathroom is fully tiled and equipped with a hip bath with overhead shower, pump-out toilet with extractor, washbasin with splashback, vanity unit with light, small radiator, vinyl flooring, and convenient storage for a spare Porta Potti.

Perfik is powered by a Lister Petter LPWS4 39HP engine with PRM Delta gearbox, serviced in November 2023, and she features a 1205-litre water tank and 280-litre diesel tank. She holds a Boat Safety Certificate valid until 30 August 2027, was blacked by RW Davis in March 2024, and her last survey in July 2022 confirms her excellent condition with all recommended repairs completed.

With her combination of classic craftsmanship, recent upgrades totalling around £8,000, and fully equipped interior including household extras, Perfik is a truly ‘ready to go’ traditional stern narrowboat, perfect for both leisurely cruising and extended life on the waterways.
